First, look the transparency. Different materials cause different price then cause different transparency.

Second, pull the hose. High quality silicone hose will not turn white if you pull it hard, while there will be white points on low quality hose.

Third, smell. Silicone hose is non smell, if you can smell something, it may be inferior hose.

You can handle the hose with silicone oil. This can reduce the absorption of the hose, then reduce the dusts. Besides, this can make the hose more smooth.
