Today I will share with you a small fault. However, this small fault may cause a lot of problems, which can be said to affect the whole body.
This time I will share with you the cracking of the engine intake hose, which causes the engine mixture ratio to deviate from the normal value. This leads to the engine’s inability to accelerate, increased fuel consumption, and unstable engine working conditions! (Mainly for engines with air flow meters).
The reasons for the engine intake hose cracking
The rubber hose has been affected by the high temperature of the engine for a long time and has become fragile. Generally, this hose is connected to the throttle and the air flow meter. When accelerating, the engine will shake back and forth. So this hose bears the force of this shaking. Long-term hardening of the hose and shaking at the meeting will easily cause the intake hose to crack.
The engine has an air flow meter to calculate the air flow. So when the air intake behind the flow meter is not correct, the engine will be abnormal.
The particularity of this fault point is that the cracked part of the hose is intact under idle conditions. Only when accelerating or the engine shakes will air be taken in from here. So the fault point is not easy to find.
Also, when you usually maintain the car and replace the air filter, it may also cause the hose to rupture.
A seemingly insignificant fault will directly affect the engine’s power and fuel consumption, which is a major fault.
